Black Friday: Unbiased iPhone X Review

Black Friday: Unbiased iPhone X Review

Is the iPhone X your Black Friday steal the day after Thanksgiving? First and foremost, the iPhone X is sexy.  Apple took a hybrid approach to the design of its latest’s iteration of the iPhone. With a glass back and screen along with aluminum siding takes the best design from earlier iPhones and pairs it with their latest designs we have seen on the 7 and 8 versions.

Full screen means full screen

The first thing you notice with the iPhone X is the screen. I compared my iPhone 7 plus with the iPhone X and noticed the phone not only has a larger screen than the 7+ but with the extended full-screen design it still fits in your hand like a regular iPhone. So you get an iPhone plus experience inside of a smaller, easier to hold onto the phone.

This camera is above and beyond any mobile device camera I have ever seen. With a more enhanced portrait mode and the updated slo-mo effect, this is the best camera Apple has offered ever. With 4K resolution, this can replace any expensive camera you currently own. But the coolest feature the new camera has is the ability to take a selfie in portrait mode. Portrait mode now has 5 different effects. The effect pictured is Stage Light.

Animated Emojis

Small new feature but I think it is worth mentioning. Animated emojis bring emojis to life with your own voice. However, this feature is only viewable between iPhone X’s.

No Home Button

Everything is by digital touch now. The home button has been replaced with a digital swipe bar. This feature has taken some time to get used to but it is much more efficient than the home button. But it allows for a more immersive full-screen experience. That makes it all the more worth it.

Facial Recognition

The only flaw in this device is the facial recognition.  While it recognizes your face within a couple of feet it struggles to recognize your face if you have on sunglasses, hat or any other obstructive accessories.  Without touch ID you need to manually unlock your iPhone with a 6 digit passcode.  This makes it very difficult to multi-task on your iPhone while driving (DO NOT TRY).

An all-encompassing conclusion

Get it. This phone provides the most immersive user experience yet on a smartphone from Apple. The phone had a lot of criticism going into its launch but I can tell you I disagree with all those sentiments. Worth every penny of the $1k retail price. 🤙🏻🔥🤙🏻🔥🤙🏻🔥
