Is your social media expert really an expert? Nine times out of ten, they’re not. Some people still believe social media is all about driving sales and increasing foot traffic into their store. These people are seriously mistaken. If your social media expert claims he/she can prove ROI on the spot for your clients, they are not really an expert. Social media is about brand loyalty. It’s about customer service. Social media creates an open door policy into your company; and it gives customers a front row seat to your engagement abilities.

Social media has taken a turn for the better over the past couple of years. It’s not just about viral videos and eye-catching graphics anymore. Social media is giving companies the ability to talk to their customers personally any hour of the day, seven days a week. Ten years ago people couldn’t hop on Twitter from their mobile phones, tweet that their XYZ Company cashier was terrible, and 10 seconds later have a tweet back from XYZ Company saying they’re sorry. We’ve come a long way from waiting two hours on the phone just to talk to a robot; and this is just the tip of the iceburg.
